This is the fastest route to the podium in life and on the track. Our 7-month immersion into three series of racing builds your core competencies as you progress through each tier. Not only will you learn the fundamentals of high-performance driving, but you will also get to explore the job opportunities that are linked to the motorsports industry. From visits to manufacturers to race teams to supporting industries, you will discover how you can turn your love of cars and eSports into a lucrative career!

Gamification is the future of STEM careers and our team of young ladies loves showing you what is out there the same way Mike Rowe loves dirty jobs! Along the way, we will have three challenges that will allow you to showcase your strengths as a driver, a spokesperson, and as a businessperson. Every pro driver will tell you, driving is only 10% of the job.

Are you a gamer competing in the iRacing, Asseto Corrsa or Forza competitions? Are you a new driver wanting to learn on a sim before you get into a real car? Will we see a pro – Lando, Sainz or Dale Jr – jump into our conversations and challenge our Athenians? You’ll have to subscribe to this series to find out!

Like the adrenaline-filled bursts towards a goal, sprint races in motorsports have a similar energy. Sprint races are designed to provide a short and fast-paced racing spectacle with drivers racing flat-out from start to finish without the need to pit. Most races are usually around 25-30 minutes and run on fresh tires.

In Formula 1, the starting order for the sprint race is decided by a traditional qualifying session on the Friday. Then the results of the sprint race on Saturday determines the starting order for Sunday’s race. All the globally recognized racing series – F1, IMSA, SRO, IndyCar, VARA, NASA, SVRA, Lucky Dog, MX-5 Global Cup – have sprint sessions. Though, IMSA takes it one step further competing for the annual Sprint Cup consisting of eight races.

Developing your skills by starting with Sprint will allow you to grow over the five-week training schedule. This is a great starting point for someone who is new to motorsports and racing sims

TRAINING: starts May 1

Did you watch Ford vs. Ferrari and get emotional during certain racing scenes? If so, this is the series for you. If you’re a sim racer, this is the most popular type of racing on all platforms – Gaming console or PC – and they all include the racetracks of the Triple Crown of Racing.

Endurance racing is a form of auto racing that’s meant to test the durability of the racecar and endurance of participants – drivers and crew. Teams of multiple drivers attempt to cover a large distance in a single event, with drivers changing during the race every two to four hours to reduce the risk of mental and physical fatigue. Endurance races can be run either to cover a set distance in laps as quickly as possible, or to cover as much distance as possible over a preset amount of time – usually ranging from 12 to 24 hours.

To give everyone the best chance to understand endurance racing, Athena DRIVE will train on the courses that comprise the Enduro Triple Crown races: the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In this series, we will refine the skills taught in the SPRINT series and continue improving your driving skills. We will also teach you how pro athletes are able to concentrate and maintain energy under such grueling circumstances. The focus and mental strategy required to perform at these levels under this stress and for hours at a time can translate from the racetrack to life!

TRAINING: starts June 10

Do you have dreams of competing in F1 or W Series? Getting time in an open-wheel car is vital to continue progressing up through the ranks of such an iconic form of racing. INDYCAR is the premier level of open-wheel racing in the United States and races on a wider range of tracks – superspeedways, short ovals, road courses and temporary street circuits – which means the cars are adjusted significantly depending on the circuit. As the driver, you will need to be able to adjust to the differences in the tracks and your car set-up.

In this training you will learn the secrets of car set up: from alignment, corner weights, tire pressures and more. We’ll work directly with Honda Performance Development for insights into engineering and dynamics. Their experience in all series of racing will inspire you to continue with your racing aspirations.

TRAINING: starts August 5

The skills that you will develop over this 7-month immersion of training and challenges will refine and define you as a racer and as a person. DRIVE powered by Athena Racing, a racing-themed STEM Education Club for girls, teaches so much more than just racing. We are developing the leaders for our future. The skillsets developed here will be transferable across multiple industries. Gamification is the future and the development of transportation is morphing from siloed engineering feats to developments that span across land, sea and air. With input from industry leaders, our training segments deliver engaging content that makes learning fun!
